Now if i count the clothes i have on -

Nordic knee high socks, very important to cover ones knees.

Necessary, but not necessary to describe, underwear,

Mothers thermal vest, ancient but still affective and most precioius.

Polo neck sweater

Gentleman’s double layer reversible cashmere zipped up long waistcoat, a gem, bought from a Portland chairity shop.

Chinese, fairisle cardigan, a WOMAD bargain.

Handknitted by the talented, Vera, a mid length skirt

and

Fairisle cuffs from Orkney

and

scarf

and

a hat

You’ll probably be perceptive of the weather.

Pannetone, snow capped mountains, bitter, bitter wind, pale grey Loch Ewe with just loud, hopeful birds and waving formeum for company, this is the beginning of 2026’s winter in the Highlands.

Typical you may think, mainly you’d be right. The created pause this presents, get’s me thinking and offers me an understanding of bears.

Do I feel like doing nothing, staying snug in bed, have i eaten more and more, is it dark for most hours of the day?
